Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio

Hi, im running windows 7 (7100) 32 bit.
Ive got Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio in, ive downloaded the xp, vista and 7 beta drivers from creative, they either say driver version not found OR they say the device isnt plugged in properly, which it is having run it with xp. The only thing i dont have is the disk anymore.

Has anyone managed to get this sound card working with 7? if so how did you manage it?

PCI or PCI-E version? The drivers are different for each.

    or do i need
-PAX X-FI OS Driver V6.55 codename “Wing Foot”
Or doesnt it matter between the two? I need whats best for getting the surround sound and mic working.

Neither as both of those are for the real X-Fi's, of which your isn't. If you insist on trying his drivers you need any of the one's near the bottom that are based on any of the XFXA driver sets, none of the others will work. If in doubt compare the driver version he lists with what is available from Creative for your card.

P.S. Nice to see that his descriptions of his supposed driver sets (all he does is add device ID's and make some very questionable INF changes) are as messy as the INF changes he makes. Oh and in case anyone is wondering what I mean about him and his messy modding,

One of these days he may just change the name as there is little to nothing left of PAX, for the same reason that the YouP name has been dropped from them.

Since May 29 there has been a new X-Fi Xtreme beta driver for Windows 7 available here:

    Creative Worldwide Support

Have you tried it? It works fine with my SB X-Fi Xtreme card. Note that it automatically seems to install itself as a "7.1 Surround" system. You will need to go into "Control Panel | Sound" and select ""Configure" to choose the speaker option that matches the audio set-up you actually have.

Hope you realize that your Audigy 2 is a better card than the Xtreme Audio.
