Windows 7 - Microphone not working on X-Fi XtremeGamer

So I have windows 7 x64 and I use the Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer sound card. I use the microphone frequently on my Turtle Beach X1s and it worked fine, but one day when I plugged it in the mic just didn't work, I tried absolutely everything, updating drivers reinstalling the entire sound card and nothing worked!!! I tried the mic on my mom's laptop with Windows 7 x64 and it worked fine. So what's the deal?

Is this on a desktop or laptop? Have you check to see if there is any thing inside the physical port that may be blocking the connection some how. It may just need a good cleaning, blowing out the port.

Desktop, and the port is free of anything and still doesn't work.

update - and now when testing it on my onboard sound it still doesn't work. -__-

update 2 - ok, i just completely reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled windows. I took out the sound card and tried the onboard with latest drivers isntalled. the mic STILL didn't work. I then disabled the onboard in the bios and put in the x-fi card and installed the latest drivers and it still didn't work!!! remember, the mic worked fine on a different computer.
