    Realtek sound fuzzy/static

Hi, I have been trying out RC 7100 and 7229 with a AMD/ATI 780G mobo with realtek HD audio. I have tried up to driver version 2.26 (have 2.27 now, will try when at home later). I am using 2.1 speakers from the green analog connection.

My issue is this: I get a static/fuzzy sound. The sounds still play - but they are not crisp. This is particularly noticable within WMC when opening or closing, or using the menus.

At first it reminded me of what it would sound like in WinXP when the wav slider was set too high, so I tried to find a wav slider in Win7 but I could not. Anyways - XP works fine, so I assume Win7/drivers are my issue.

I have tried all manners of settings, drivers (native win7, 2.18, 2.26) and jack swaps - but the issue remains.

Can anyone advise me on how to fix this, or is this just a wait for better drivers situation.

    Thanks in advance.

2.27 seems to have improved the situation.... it's still not crystal clear, but it is tolerable now.
