Windows Doesnt detect when I unplug my headphones
I've tried rolling back the driver, updating the driver, reinstalling the driver. I've looked at other threads for solutions with regards to the realtek audio manager with no luck there.
Essentially, one day everything was fine, and the next, when i unplugged my headphones, there was no sound, and there was no popup saying "You just unplugged a audio device." That popup usually happens when I unplug my headphones. I go into Realtek HD audio manager and sure enough, under the Analog panel, when i mouse over the green audio jack, it says "Headphones".
My sound is fine, i can still listen to music with the headphones plugged in, just that when i unplug them physically, my laptop thinks it is still plugged in, so the speakers don't kick in.
The speakers are undamaged, when i boot up, it still plays the POST sound the bios makes before windows kicks in. I'm on a Asus G51J laptop.
I've poked around gently in the headphone jack with a toothpick to try to see if theres anything blocking a connection or something, no luck.
Any ideas on how to get the auto detect to work again? Or maybe even just a registry edit so that I can manually switch between telling the computer my headphones are plugged in and not.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
