I had this problem with my creative xfi xtreme I have an ASUS Rampage Formula motherboard P4 with Nvidia Graphics Card(nvidia has HD audio but that is disabled) the scratchy sound was driving me crazy so I was trying everything to fix it btw their are new Win 7 ( mine is 64 bit) drivers dated Feb 2011 might help you. But in my Bios there is a listing for HD AUDIO I disabled that and now the crackling and noise is gone. I do not have sound built in to my MB so it is not that. Also with creative cards YOU do have to turn off all anti virus and background programs to install it. I didn't install the drivers and programs yet (it is still using old drivers dated 6-2009) because I had uninstalled everything once again to try the new drivers I had Downloaded but I was so happy to have it working right I didn't want to screw it up with drv and applications so I will install those today.

    Hi All,

I have X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion, running Windows 7 64 bit. I have had the card for almost 3 years and I have never ever had any problems. The question I have is, is anyone running the card with 7.1 speakers?

I have Creative S750 7.1 speakers, and when doing a speaker test everything is fine, I can hear all speakers. Also, when I play music, I can play it in all 7 speakers.

The problem is, I cannot play 7.1 movies on all 7 speakers. If I play 5.1 everything is fine, but If I switch to 7.1 (both in creative console and in Power DVD), I can only hear the front and the middle speakers. The sound that is meant to be played on rear speakers moves to the middle ones, and absolutely nothing comes out in the rear ones. I had older model Creative sound card, which I was running in XP, and was then able to watch moves in 7.1 mode. Must be something with the decoding/drivers, as when I play music all speakers work ?

    Please help
