These Codecs are working perfectly for me.
will play xvid and mkv files.

I've used codecs from Shark007 for a couple of years now, never had a problem with them.

    Working great here!

    To install them:

    start regedit
    navigate to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SQMClient\Windows\Disabled Sessions
    rename MachineThrottling to _MachineThrottling

This resolves the crash while installing.

Myself i've been using FFDSHOW 64BIT with Media player classic home cinema 64bit , works a treat :)

I've made sure in options it will ONLY be used in media player classic and nothing else

I installed them as I found them this afternoon on my laptop when attempting to download stuff from BetaNews - and then proceeded to play an MKV file on the laptop that could not previously play it. Several MKVs, in fact.

No doubt about it, the FFDshow x64 gives the better options for playback on any 64bit system. Even linux users are asking for a version..

Odd, MKVs have worked fine for me since I installed (vanilla, I've installed no codecs yet - a first for a Windows install heh, usually one of the first things I have to do). Will give these a try though. Thanks for the post.
