Connot configure my sound to 5.1 in windows 7

My configuration screen only shows stereo, can anyone tell me why I cannot see 5.1 etc, I could in Vista.

    Hi

Have you updated the drivers for your sound-card (whether it's on-board or dedicated) ?

I have updated and it simply says that all is find.

I removed the card in device manager, re-installed it and its still the same.

It is an onboard "High Definition Audio Device".

I use the three cables supplied to link it to the 3 rear 3.5mm jacks as I had done with vista but with windows 7 it just doesn't work.

    Hi

    Thanks for that :)

    1. Are you using the latest drivers or are you using device manager to find updates for you?
    2. Could you post a snip of your device manager with the audio device expanded?
    3. Could you also post a snip of your playback device configuration? Go to your system tray>right-click the speaker icon>select playback devices>select the device with the green check-mark(tick)>select configure

    Regards

Bling35 - have a look also at this link - Realtek Audio Drivers, you may need to download the driver from this site, but we'll wait first for your screen-snip

Means you haven't installed the driver for the onboard audio and it is running off of the default Windows audio driver. Follow the link Lomai posted to get the proper driver for it and then you will have the same control panel you had in Vista and that p5bdkw posted.
