    Hi and welcome to SF
It would help us if we knew what audio card, and computer you have. if you used that codec in xp you need to find and download a different one for win 7

From the model of laptop you posted ( Gericom Hummer Advance 2640 DVD+RW) and Googling it, it appears to have the Athlon XP2600+ in it. If that is the correct one here is the spec sheet for it,

    http://download.gericom.com/NOTEBOOK...EET/755CI0.pdf - (direct download link)

which says it has the VIA 1612A audio chip in it, which is one of Via's older audio chips. The best I can find on Via's site for that is a driver for Vista,

    VIA Arena - Display Drivers

that may or may not work in Windows 7; nothing to lose as there isn't a Windows 7 driver, and base on the age of things not likely to be.

VIA has gone and totally re-done their website. Anyway try this one (supposed to be compatible with Vista, so about your only chance as i have a feeling you won't be seeing Windows 7 drivers for that chipset),

    displaydrivers

After downloading unzip it and have a look in the folder for SETUP.EXE, right click on it and select properties. then click on the Compatibility tab and set it to Vista (not the ones with Service pack beside them), and then see if they will install.
