    Microphone problems.

So yesterday while i was playing on my PS3 while talking on skype, i decide to go to the bathroom with my headset on to brush my teeth, so lalala in i go and when i lowered my head my mic fell out of my headset and into a (semi deep) pool of water for about 2 seconds, ever since then to even hear a slight noise from my microphone i have to shout into it as loud as i can (Not over exaggerating), i know it's my mic because when i plug my headphones (Yes my crap ass £1 headphones have the ability to be used a microphone, how i don't know) and talk into them i can hear myself, is their anyway i can boost the sound of the microphone so i don't have to shout?

PS: I can't send it because i've already sent it back once, i have a:

Sound Blaster World of Warcraft Headsets

I've tried un-installing and reinstalling the software, reseting the drivers bla bla bla and nothing seems to work

    ~Thanks

Don't you think perhaps you might have irreversibly damaged your headphones when they fell into the pool of water???????????
