If I'm understanding what you're trying to say, it sounds like your headphone port is not recognizing that the headphones have been plugged in. I would first try plugging in another set of headphones to see if the problem is the port or the headphones.

Also, did your headphones come with a CD, driver, or any other installation help? What about an instruction booklet from the manufacturer? Can you call the manufacturer's tech support to ask for help?

Also, have you checked your IDT Audio settings? Go to the Control Panel and open the IDT Audio Control Panel? Under "Speakers and Dual Headphones” go to the Playback section and then click on Settings. Check: 'Set as default.'

Mine works exactly the same. I don't believe there's anything actually wrong - that's just what happens.

There is no 'detection' going on beyond the fact that there's something connected to an analog-out jack. It has no way of knowing whether it's speakers, headphones or whatever.

You can double-click the 'Speakers' item in the list and manually assign an Icon and a Name of your choice.

Unfortunately if you plug in more than one analog-out jack e.g. speakers and headphones, you'll still only get one analog-out volume control and can only choose a single icon and name.

Did you plugged your Headphones on the front USB ports of your PC Case? If yes then open the Audio Manager and click on the Folder Icon and Check the 1st option "disable front panel jack detection". Than your Headset will be detected and you will be able to use it too though it will not show any pop-up when you will plug or unplug headphones :) hope it helps.
