I am using that unofficial driver pack some guy made on the creative forums, works pretty well using alchemy etc. Sound is far superior to what it was in XP. Not bad considering the card was designed for XP.

I get BSOD when I try to install that driver.

I had to do the same. The creative drivers "worked" as far as putting sound out of my speakers and recording from a mic but there would be degradation in sound quality over a period of time to the point that it sounded like someone was playing sound through a china bowl crash. My mic sounded like I was underwater. Uninstalled and installed the related Daniel K drivers and everything worked great. Maybe Creative should hire this guy. Just a thought.

i got the Audigy Platinum and the issue i have is the sound works. 95% of the time. Then out of no where i get a static, like white noise over the speakers. I switch to my Realtek i think it is and it works perfect. Missing my Audigy..Any fix?

Question, does the latest Audigy SE drivers have the "what you hear" feature? In Vista, it had that feature then it was deleted in a driver update. I had one client that wanted the Sound Enhancements (reverb, etc) and he installed the latest driver and got the sound enhancements but it wiped out the What You Hear.

I have an Audigy SE in my old Vista PC but I've never updated the driver because of the loss of the What You Hear.

Hey, I just recently upgraded to 7 and dealing with these SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio (is it just me or does adding a misspelled "extreme" just make it seem 80's level corny?) has been a real nightmare.

At first Windows auto updated the drivers and it kinda worked. By kinda worked I mean it either dropped 2 of my 5 channels of audio (so I was missing half of my sound) or I could switch it to stereo and it would completely remove all bass from the output (so much for 5.1). So I tried installing the drivers from the Creative site...and that's when it all went wrong.

Now whenever my system starts up it just locks up and keeps repeating the same note very rapidly. On the few times that a safe-mode uninstall works and I manage to get the drivers back on without a lockup it'll just choose some arbitrary other time to lock up instead. Every time it'll do that stuck audio thing even if no audio was playing at the time.

I know it's the audio drivers because if I uninstall them and use my system without audio everything works fine.

Oh, one thing I should mention. When I had first installed the Creative drivers everything was working fine until Windows Update decided to update my Creative drivers and that was when the problems started.

Also, if I disable the audio in safe mode then start in normal mode I can then go and re-enable the audio. This causes the audio to work again, but the sound gets all choppy and distorted.

Seeing as other people seem to have had success with the newest Creative drivers for this I was hoping I could get some extra advice as to why my system would be different than everyone else's.

I'm running Windows 7 x86, 2 gigs of RAM (ran the memtest on the RAM, it seems to check out) with an AMD x64 dual core 4200+ CPU.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys and gals.
