Windows 7 - Sound channels reversed |

Sound channels reversed Hey everyone, thanks for taking the time to read this.
I've been having a strange sound issue with Win 7. I'm using the HDMI output from my graphics card to send audio to my TV. The issue is that left and right audio channels are reversed! The TV works fine when the signal is coming from cable, it just doesn't work when coming from the computer.
Normally, I'd have no issue fixing this, but the audio control panel for my graphics card is extremely basic and there's no way that I can tell to flip the channels.
Any suggestions?

Sure, I'm currently using the ATI HDMI driver that's included with the 9.6 driver package. That's the most current available. I haven't installed any other drivers yet, and the motherboards onboard audio is disabled in bios, so its just the video card's audio chip producing sound.
As for codecs, I also have CCCP (Combined Community Codec Pack) installed, Core AVC and AC3 Filter.
BUT, the problem was there before I installed any codecs or even the drivers. Sound was working out of the box, but backwards :P | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate Build 7100 CPU Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 Motherboard Asus P5Q Pro Turbo Memory OCZ Platinum 4GB Graphics Card ATI Radeon 4870 Sound Card None Monitor(s) Displays 42in Sharp Aquos LCD TV PSU Corsair HX520 Case Antec P182 Cooling Scythe Mugen 2 Hard Drives 2x Seagate 250GB in Raid 0

It's the adapter that came with the card. No, it doesn't have any built in HDMI ports. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate Build 7100 CPU Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 Motherboard Asus P5Q Pro Turbo Memory OCZ Platinum 4GB Graphics Card ATI Radeon 4870 Sound Card None Monitor(s) Displays 42in Sharp Aquos LCD TV PSU Corsair HX520 Case Antec P182 Cooling Scythe Mugen 2 Hard Drives 2x Seagate 250GB in Raid 0

Stupid question : The s/pdf connecter to the mother board is plugged in correctly ?
We had another poster on here that had the cable plugged in incorrectly. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Built OS Windows 7 Rc Build 7264 x86, Ubuntu CPU Intel Q8200 Quad Core Motherboard Asus P5QL Memory 2 Gb Graphics Card nVidia 8400GS Sound Card Stock Realtek HD Audio Monitor(s) Displays Hp 2207h and LG 42in LCD Screen Resolution 1680 x 1050, 1360 x 768 Keyboard Microsoft Wireless Mouse Microsoft Wireless PSU Corsair 550W Case Thermaltake DH 102 Cooling Unmodified Hard Drives 250 Gb seagate internal, (2) Western Digital 1 Tb external Internet Speed Time Warner - 15mb\s Other Info 4 ATI Digital Cable Tuners, 1 XBox 360, Life|Ware home automation,Yamaha RX-V765, Harmony 1000 Remote |

Nevermind, your card doesn't need the cable.
You do have the latest drivers installed, correct? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Built OS Windows 7 Rc Build 7264 x86, Ubuntu CPU Intel Q8200 Quad Core Motherboard Asus P5QL Memory 2 Gb Graphics Card nVidia 8400GS Sound Card Stock Realtek HD Audio Monitor(s) Displays Hp 2207h and LG 42in LCD Screen Resolution 1680 x 1050, 1360 x 768 Keyboard Microsoft Wireless Mouse Microsoft Wireless PSU Corsair 550W Case Thermaltake DH 102 Cooling Unmodified Hard Drives 250 Gb seagate internal, (2) Western Digital 1 Tb external Internet Speed Time Warner - 15mb\s Other Info 4 ATI Digital Cable Tuners, 1 XBox 360, Life|Ware home automation,Yamaha RX-V765, Harmony 1000 Remote |

Nah, that's not a stupid question.
The answer is that I don't have an spdif connector hooked up. I might be wrong, but I think its only nvidia cards that need that. As I understand it, in my case the video card isn't passiing audio through from the sound card, the video card IS the sound card. I have my motherboard's sound chip disabled in the bios. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate Build 7100 CPU Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 Motherboard Asus P5Q Pro Turbo Memory OCZ Platinum 4GB Graphics Card ATI Radeon 4870 Sound Card None Monitor(s) Displays 42in Sharp Aquos LCD TV PSU Corsair HX520 Case Antec P182 Cooling Scythe Mugen 2 Hard Drives 2x Seagate 250GB in Raid 0

I realized that after I posted.
