Confuse on Audio Issue...

I'm been reading about Windows 7 audio issues from different sources but never understood how they could help me with my problem. I'm using a software that recored from audio sources, in the soundcard area it shows devices which I selected mine and the only input source I can selected is Master Volume. Now from my reading if my sound card don't support streaming audio or something like that I can install a audio card. Alright I done that and it works, but the issue is in the software it see the other sound card but still the input is only Master Volume. So I guessing this is more of windows issue a not allowing me to choose my USB mic or other devices. I can use my devices in other means and they all work fine. I just don't know hos this works with Windows 7 and ask if anybody can give a hand.
thanks
Zak

Go to sound control panel.

Go to recording tab of that panel.

Right click in a blank area of that tab.

Make sure "show disabled devices" and "show disconnected devices" are checked. Can you then choose your device?

What recording program are you using? Audacity?

I can choose my device which is already set to. I use PodProducer as you can recored, edit, RSS and FTP as well as edit after show. Thus it beats Audacity 10 fold. :) PodProducer But I'm still having the same issue.
