    Microphone Low Playback

Hi all, my mic works fine on Skype. It sounds loud and clear on Skype but when I am trying it on Voice Recorder and from the sound options in Control Panel it is very low when I play it back. I have the Microphone and Boost slider set all the way. And I have the sliders set up all the way on VIA HD Audio Deck(recently updated). Is there something I am missing? Thanks.

There should be a volume option in Voice Recorder and if there isn't you can always download something like Audacity and increase the volume.

Hey there I am on VIA drivers too :P Unfortunately though my new mic doesn't show up in the audio deck but my old one does. So I can't do mic boost etc but it still works fine in skype.

Anyway have tried going to recording devices and turning up volume from there?

I downloaded audacity but trying to sync the video and audio is very tedious. Would it be a good idea if I got rid of VIA HD audiodeck and used realtek audio instead? or try it at least?

Yes it's worth a try, I think without drivers I had bad quality audio and Realtek drivers didn't work so I got the VIA Drivers from my motherboard website, but trying them won't hurt!

What is the make/model of the mic, and VIA drivers install drivers for front mic etc so in the HD Audio Deck you might be turning up settings for another mic..With my mic the problem is VIA doesn't install drivers for it, so I can't go into the VIA HD Audio Deck and mic boost etc

I think you may have helped me a bit with my problem. I am using the mic jack on the back because the one on the front has too much static and cracking noises. But I don't know how to change it where I change the settings of the mic port in the back of my computer. The mic is a Logitech headset but it works fine on other computers. I'm not sure what model though. I'm looking through my VIA HD Audio Deck and everything is up all the way regarding the mic. What kind of mic do you have?

I don't know how to find front mic and rear mic for the VIA HD Audio Deck and I'm not sure if I have windows audio mixer unless you mean the Sound options in control panel, but I downloaded sound drivers for my motherboard and it sounds SLIGHTLY better but I am still doing tests.
