Windows 7: adjust bass/treble - is there a download i can install?

my speakers are great, but due to an unfortunate accident i am currently using earphones until i can buy a soldering gun to fix the speakers.

it sounds like the bass is too high and it's very difficult for me to understand speech.

this is for netflix, which i believe does not use windows media player. i can't remember the name of what it uses.

is there some place i can download some sort of app that gives me an equalizer for headphones or speakers that don't have bass/treble controls?

Have you checked the control panel that should have been installed for your sound card (onboard or actual card) when you installed the drivers?

If there isn't anything there (don't why there won't be), then Windows should have what you need for bass and treble,

i can't find anything that even *remotely* looks like anything to do with sound/music/movies except windows media centre.

but i'm suspecting it might be an issue with silverlight.
