As it seems, the Edifier s550 is better than the Z5500 but I dont like the design of both. My original choice was JBL Cinema 300 but then again I would need a receiver. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Hexa-Beast OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel i7 970 (6-Core) Motherboard Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD5 Memory G.Skill Ripjaws 8GB (2x4GB) CL7 Graphics Card Nvidia GTX 580 Sound Card Asus Xonar D2X (7.1 Ch) Monitor(s) Displays Insignia 32" Full HD LED-LCD Screen Resolution 1080p Keyboard Logitech Wave K350 Mouse Logitech Wave M510 PSU Corsair TX950W Case CM HAF X Cooling Corsair H70 Hard Drives Crucial C300 128GB SSD (Main)

I use a pair of Alesis M1 Active MK2 studio monitors for my PC and if I want surround sound I'll use my HTPC with the Pioneer/JBL/Polk 5.1 setup.
The Alesis have very good imaging and I do most of my gaming, movie, and tv watching with them. they also play loud and clear at levels that hurt your ears.
Do you actually have your 5.1 setup you use now with the speakers in the proper place? I see a lot of people have all 5 speakers sitting on the desk facing the user which defeats the purpose of surround sound. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HAL-9000 OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit CPU Intel i7 3770K Motherboard Asus Sabertooth Z77 Memory 16GB DDR3 1333 Corsair XMS3 Graphics Card XFX HD6950 2GB EyeFinity Sound Card Logitech G35 & Sennheiser PC135 & VIA HD Monitor(s) Displays 23" HP 2310e, 23" Samsung B2230, 21.5" Viewsonic Screen Resolution 5760x1080 Keyboard Logitech G15 and G13 Mouse Logitech G700 Gaming Mouse PSU Antec True Power New 650watt Case Cooler Master HAF-932 Cooling Corsair H60 Hydro Cooler, 3x 230mm Fans, 2x120mm Fan Hard Drives 16TB of Storage
