    microphones not working

    Hi all

Dont know how to put this problem i am facing so here it is.I have headfones which i use in skype and stuff and few days back all was ok when suddenly one day the other party in skype couldnt hear me.I unplugged headfones and tried again but microphone of headfone was not working.I thought there must be problem with my headfone so to test it i used skype in ubuntu and it worked without any probem.

Next i uninstalled realtek audio drivers and installed it again and microphone seemed to work for one day but now i am facing this problem again.Internal microphone of my laptop is working though and if i uninstall realtek audio manager, the microphone of my headfones work perfectly.

Also i noticed whenever i plugged in my headfones realtek audio manager UI used to pop up and i could clearly see microphone section ticked mark but since this problem started i could see another entry besides microphone in realtek UI saying LINE IN PINK.

Any help will be appreciated as to make my headfones work when i have realtek audio manager installed on my laptop. Thanks in advance

and one more thing after i uninstall realtek audio driver and restart my laptop it automatically searches for audio drivers and installs "High definition audio driver" but not realtek audio drivers. So its a problem of realtek audio driver not recognizing my external microphone even though it used to work previously without any problem.

    TIA

and few days back all was ok when suddenly...
Few days back MS has delivered many updates.
Maybe one of those updates made your microphone not to work.
Try to make a restore to the day before the windows update.
    Good luck.

Happy to see your problem sorted out.

Every now and there, remember to make a restore point before making any changes to your system.

And every while, make an image.
