Hi,

We are a trading company located in London and we are trying to use a program called WAVE desktop communicator, We can use this program on older version of windows but when we install it on windows 7 and open up the program we get an error message saying "WAVE was unable to detect any valid audio devices. please ensure that you have a working audio device and try again".

We have got the sound drivers installed on our machine but we are unable to hear any sound, does any one have any ideas on what we can try.

Do you have the Windows 7 supported version? It looks like V5.1 is for Windows 7.
If this is an onlder version, run it in a compatibility mode for XP and see if that allows it to run. If not, you will most likely have to upgrade to the current Windows 7 supported version.

What version of Wave desktop communicator are we talking about here?
On Microsoft website it says that version 4.8 is compatible with no extra action required.

we are unable to hear any sound
You mean no sound even before installing that Wave thing?
Most likely audio drivers you have installed are not compatible with your computer/ windows.
You need to check manufacturer's website for appropriate audio drivers.
