Sound error message in dxdiag
Was having problems with a game and as part of the trouble shooting process, ran "dxdiag". As soon as I opened the diagnostic a window opened..error: problem getting extra sound info". I ran all the sound checks via the sound tabs in "dxdiag" and there were no problems with any of the checks.
Was surprised at the message because I have no problems with the sound on my system. I checked Device Manager(no yellow !'s) for either the sound card or the HD audio device; I looked into the system information and both said OK.
I have a Asus Xonar D2X soundcard with driver 7.12.8.1793 which is the latest one Asus has. I have DirectX 11 on my system with a couple of games I'm playing that loaded DirectX 9.0c.
Can someone give some direction as to what should be done? I suppose it would be easier if there was an error message somewhere other then in "dxdiag", but there isn't. I am not good with configuring soundcards and some of the technical terms used to configure them so I do some help in that regard. Thanks.
