Thank you for your help so far. I appreciate it!
In game, there is indeed a slider for "BGM" (The midi background music) But it literally has no effect whatsoever. I can't even mute the sound in game!
In the "recording" tab, there is indeed a "Stereo Mix" device. It was disabled and I enabled it. I fiddled around with it's properties, and the only effect I've been able to produce is an "echo" when I max out the volume slider under "Levels" tab and check "listen to this device". This echo effects every sound, not just midi. Setting the volume slider to 0 does nothing to lower the midi volume.
I'm at a loss... O_O | My System Specs |

Unfortunately, I think that the control of midi volume using it's own slider has been abandoned.
You really have to control the volume with the WMP volume slider or third party player in Windows 7. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self-built OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit CPU Intel Core i7-3770 Motherboard MSI Z77A-G45 Memory G.SKILL 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 F3-10666CL9D-8GBNT Graphics Card Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6670 Sound Card On-Board Realtek Monitor(s) Displays Samsung SyncMaster P2370HD, Dell 1703FPT Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080, 1280 x 1024 Keyboard Logitech K270 Mouse Logitech M705 PSU SeaSonic M12II SS-500GM Case Lian Li PC-9F Cooling Zalman CNPS9900ALED Hard Drives Samsung HD103SJ Internet Speed 16 Mbps Other Info Bose Companion 2 Multimedia Speakers |

How would that work, exactly? I ran Windows media player and set it's volume to 25%, but the midi music in the game was as loud as ever. I have LoopBe installed, and the description of the program is "Basically LoopBe1 is an "invisible cable" to connect a MIDI outport of an application to any other application´s MIDI inport."
Is there a way to connect the midi outport of the game to the midi inport of WMP, so that the WMP volume slider will control the midi volume of the game? ...Does that even make any sense? :O | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Parts ordered from Newegg.com OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Core i7 920 OC'd to 3.6GHz (3.78 w/Turbo) Motherboard Asrock X58 Extreme Rev. 2 (P2.70 BIOS) Memory 3x2GB G.Skill Pi DDR3-1600 7-8-7-24-1T (running at 1440MHz) Graphics Card XFX ATI Radeon 5870 1GB (No OC) Sound Card Integrated Realtek HD 5.1 Audio Monitor(s) Displays Asus VH242H 24" Widescreen Monitor Screen Resolution 1920x1080 @60Hz Keyboard Logitech G15 (Second Edition Orange) Mouse Logitech G500 Wired Laser Mouse PSU SeaSonic S12D 850w Silver Case Cooler Master HAF 922 Cooling 3x 200mm Red LED case fans, 1x 120mm case fan, Corsair H50 Hard Drives Main Drive: WDC Black 1TB 7200 w/32mb cache

One more try.
Go back to the Playback tab on Sound.
Select the Speakers then click Properties.
Select the Advanced tab.
At about the middle of window, check both boxes under Exclusive Mode. (Be sure to click Apply, OK)
Go back to the game and see if the game can now control the volume. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Built 2/11/2011 OS Windows 7 Pro-x64 CPU i7-2600 3.4GHz - 3.8GHz Turbo Motherboard Intel DH67BL-B3 Memory 8Gb - 2x4GB, Muskin 991770 PC3-1333 Graphics Card Integrated Intel HD 2000 Sound Card Integrated Intel 10.1 HD, RealTek ALC892 Monitor(s) Displays Asus LCD VH222H, Haier HL24XSL2a Screen Resolution 1920x1080, 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech EX100 Wireless Mouse Logitech EX100 Wireless PSU Seasonic 650W 80+ Gold Modular Case Rosewill Defender Cooling Stock CPU, Four 120mm case fans, PCH fan added Hard Drives Crucial C300-128Gb,

Thanks anyway.
The game is called "The Sagara Family". It is an... ahem... "eroge" or H-Game Visual Novel...
<.<
BUT. This problem is concerning midi files. Any game/program that uses midi files has this problem. If I play a midi file with Media Player Classic Home Cinema, the player's volume bar does nothing. Similar to the game's volume bar for BGM (background music) doing nothing. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Parts ordered from Newegg.com OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Core i7 920 OC'd to 3.6GHz (3.78 w/Turbo) Motherboard Asrock X58 Extreme Rev. 2 (P2.70 BIOS) Memory 3x2GB G.Skill Pi DDR3-1600 7-8-7-24-1T (running at 1440MHz) Graphics Card XFX ATI Radeon 5870 1GB (No OC) Sound Card Integrated Realtek HD 5.1 Audio Monitor(s) Displays Asus VH242H 24" Widescreen Monitor Screen Resolution 1920x1080 @60Hz Keyboard Logitech G15 (Second Edition Orange) Mouse Logitech G500 Wired Laser Mouse PSU SeaSonic S12D 850w Silver Case Cooler Master HAF 922 Cooling 3x 200mm Red LED case fans, 1x 120mm case fan, Corsair H50 Hard Drives Main Drive: WDC Black 1TB 7200 w/32mb cache
