Stereo mix problems... Just like the rest of the world is having

Earlier, I formatted my PC and reinstalled Win7. Now Stereo Mix wont work. I've reinstalled the drivers (not sure if correct ones) and I've also checked off "show disconnected" or "show disabled".

Please help. I need to record computer sound with camtasia studios to finish my Minecraft Lets Play :3

Did stereo mix work on Windows 7 previously with the same hardware?

    Or not?

Your choices generally are to try all possible drivers, including Vista drivers, from whatever source or get a new sound card.

How easy you can get it going depends on whether or not your sound card/onboard chip driver is designed to support stereo mix on Windows 7.

Some are. Many aren't. But if you had it working previously with the same hardware, you should be able to get it going again. I know that Realtek drivers usually support stereo mix on Win 7.

If your card/chip was NOT designed to support stereo mix on Windows 7, you will probably have to get a card known to support it.

You might get lucky with Vista drivers.

First, It was working before I formatted. Next, It just won't appear, even when I click the show disconnected or disabled. Finally, I have no idea what sound card I have.

    Any help?

What is listed in Device Manager under "sound, video, and game controllers"??

Are there any errors shown in Device Manager (marked in yellow)??
