Windows 7: Audio Does Not Reach The Bottom

Audio Does Not Reach The Bottom

Um, yeah, just like the title says, I have Windows RC build 7100 installed and have the latest audio drivers, and it all works mighty fine, except when I want to lower the volume, the volume bar reaches 0%, yet sounds still come out. At late nights looking at videos or racing on simulators with formula 1 cars can be quite annoying to others, since even at 0%, the sound can be a little loud. It's not like it doesn't lower or anything, when the bar says it's at 30% it is significantly higher than 0%, and same goes for 50% and 100%, which means the sound actually graduates, just that when it hits 0%, it doesn't go away, and since I use a keyboard to control the sound step, it usually steps by 2% each time. So it's not a case of just saying "Just press mute" because with Vista, I had exactly the same rig and in those late nights the 1% volume worked perfect (I could hear, and my brother and parents wouldn't be bothered). With Windows 7, it feels like the potentiometer got stuck somehow... heheh i know sound cards don't have potes per se, but you get my point... How in the heck would I go about solving this?
Thanks in advance

This is a driver issue. If you use the Windows volume control directly in SysTray, do you have the same result? If, yes, likely the audio driver. If only with the keyboard, the keyboard driver.

My antique keyboard presents a similar problem.

It does it the same.... What I think is weird is I see no one else with the same problem, and considering I'm using the latest drivers and have a pretty common motherboard, no one in the internet posted anything similar....
