    Issues with X-Fi CMSS-3D

I'm using Windows 7 beta 7000 on "Auzentech prelude 7.1" at 5.1 configuration. My X-Fi CMSS-3D does not work even if is turn on and I tried both Stereo Xpand and Stereo Surround.

Does anyone know how to make it work?

I am also having issues getting my CMSS-3D to work in 7. I have a 5.1 system and the latest drivers setup along with the Creative control program, and I can get 5.1 audio when playing 5.1 video files. I really want CMSS-3D to work, if that could work windows 7 would be 99.9% complete and ready in my book.

Agreed without sound other than the stock windows 7 drivers make for a flat unflattering environment.

If you check the Creative forums you will see a LOT of people have the same problem. The infamous Daniel K is going to release a new set of drivers addressing this and other problems Creative is having with Windows 7. If you want 5.1 surround sound for music try KM Player. Look for an option for 5.1 during installation. You will then get sound out of all your speakers. Hope this helps.

Are you sure that dan k driver does in fact not work for you? I have an asus supremefx x-fi card and I have not been able to get either w7's driver nor the stock driver that came with the card to be recognized by w7.

    So, atm I am dl'ing dan k.

Going to try to see if it will work anyway.

Well, it did not work for me. I think that the issue with the soundmax driver itself is not the problem. Instead the reason why the xtreme series cards and the creative sound blaster x-fi mb console not working is exactly the specific sb_xfi drivers for the creative suite which are different than that of the sound max driver.

I noticed that the actual drivers in the registries for the sound max are working.

If I knew which of the sb_xfi drivers needed to be where then I could put them there for w7 to recognize them.

Or, perhaps they are placed in the w7 registries, just the sb_xfi drivers need to be updated for w7.
