That means that when I plug my headphones into my monitor, I want the sound to go from my speakers to my headphones.
I'm using HDMI to connect my monitor to computer
Does anyone know if this is possible??
Thanks
Nope. quite simply not possible.
Okay, heres some tech behind it...
the front and rear ports for your PC most likely have sensors in to tell the PC when you've plugged in speakers, a mic or whatever.
the sensors dont know whether its a mic or speakers, or line or whatever, so it (or at least my REALTEK) asks what device it is.. If it is headphones, it mutes the speakers and channels the audio to the front port(s) instead.
Your monitor wont have the sensor, just a little bit of metal that cuts off the sound to the speakers when headphones are plugged into the headphone socket (if it has one, like a TV). and even if it could tell, its most likely not going to be able to tell your graphics card that something got plugged in.
