    Audio Blocked

I have an ACER Notebook PC with Windows 7 Home Edition(64-bit) and an HDMI port. When I connect my HDMI cable to my HDMI large-screen TV, the sound from my PC is blocked by the TV sound(although the sound icon on the Toolbar shows it's working). I have to remove and insert the cable each time I want to get sound from the PC. Is there a way to get both sound sources without removing and reinserting the cable?

    Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

Just wondering whether an HDMI splitter would be the answer.

Page 7 on the PDF link shows what the splitter does.

    An HDMI Splitter?

I understand the concept, but what would the other end of the second HDMI cable connect to on the PC? A USB port?
And who even sells HDMI splitters?

I have done enough research(windows 7, AMD video card, ACER PC, etc.) to be convinced there's no way I can simultaneously get audio on both my PC and my TV. I'm wondering, however, whether I can run a cable from the Audio Out Port in my TV to speakers I can put near my PC(next room) and get the sound THAT way?
