Windows 7: sound through DVI-HDMI

sound through DVI-HDMI

I have two computers connected to my flat screen-TV. The first computer, a HP Pavilion is connected to one of the HDMI inputs on the TV and for the second, I use
VGA input and the corresponding audio input. A few month ago I had to start
all over with my first computer. Before I did this, I had sound from the computer via the TV-speakers through an HDMI-DVI cable. This I do not have anymore, and now I need to have a couple of ridiculous PC speakers standing at the first machine. How do I re-establish the system, so I will be free of the two small PC speakers, and get much better sound? I know that it can be done without having to change anything in hardware or cabels. Is has been working earlier. I have tried all the things mentioned in other similar posts, and I have updated drivers for video and sound without success. My soundcard is Realtek High Definition Audio and my video card is NVIDIA GeForce G100. What ever happened?
