My new Sndy Bridge build is acting a fool! Whenever I put in a dvd thew sound comes out crazy distorted, like beavers jackhammering on wood. I use WMC for long distance movie watching, with Sharks007 x86 and x64 codec (most recent builds.) all audio
drivers updated, brand new install. Issue also happens while watch HD TV (both use MPeg audio right?).
This happened before with my old Core2 Duo install, but i cant remember how I resolved the issue (was like 2-3 years ago) The only thing in common between the two are both are Gigabyte mb's, subsequently Realtek 889 audio chipsets.
To detail the scenario:
Installed all hardware, verified.
Installed all updated drivers, verified.
Accidentally put in dvd (couldnt wait, heh!), got distortion, ooops! Forgot to install codecs!
Installed Shark007 codec pkg (32, then 64 bit).
Tried dvd again, still crazy distortion (literally can hear no dialogue, just "ticking" distortion.)
Tried TV tuner with WMC, HD channels same issue, analogue channels, perfect.
Installed Daum Potplayer, everthing flawless. DVD, HD channels. Would use PotPlayer for everything, but it dont have a large screen interface.
Help?
