I've downloaded the latest drivers from the url you have given me and I now have VIA HD Audio Deck available, alas still no bass. I have gone through every setting on the HD Audio Deck and am unable to resolve the issue...........could it be a fault with the laptop itself?

Jeez, just responded and it hasn't come on the forum!!!!

Ok, I managed to resolve the issue prior to seeing your last post (I had to dash off to the wife's!!) The resolution was after following your link and downloading the driver. Although I went through the Asus HD program, it was actually bu going to control panel, sound and then playback. I then double-clicked the speakers and I was then given the option to select laptop speakers, external speakers and one other thing (I'm away from the laptop, it's at home, so can't be precise!).....Anyway, when I selected external, it, of course, kicked the bass in.

Many thanks for all your help, it's really appreciated.....
