Volume control works but shows empty white window
Thanks to the help from this forum (see How to get access to Document and Settings?) I was spared potential problems but I had to re-install Windows 7 from the restore partition on my HP TouchSmart 610. Everything is working great except for one little thing. Pressing the up and down volume control buttons on the keyboard used to show a little window on the screen with a volume control bar. After the restore, the volume adjusts fine but that volume control window is now a white blank:
I have worked with the HP helpdesk and tried scans and various other things I can't remember to fix this with no luck. Now I appeal to the SevenForums for help.
Is there some driver or other fix anyone can think of? I know it's a small problem but I want to give it a try. Thank you.
