tv to pc hdmi no sound

Hi!! I have a Dell580 inspiron with windows 7 and I connected it to my RCA LCD HDTV with a new HDMI cable from the HDMI port in the pc to HDMI port on the tv but the sound only comes through the computers outside speakers. BTW the picture is fine on the tv. Can someone let me know if there is a solution to this issue. It will be greatly appreciated!!!!

Goto your Speaker in the corner right click and select Playback devices.

Right Click on the HDMI and Enable or set as Main Device.

I understand, that you want to use the tv a bit like a monitor. The problem might be that your computer speakers are still marked as the default sound output. This means that the tv is not the one that is chosen to the play the computer sounds. You should be able find the tv in control panel -> hardware & sound -> sound. Set your tv or hdmi whichever one shows up, as the default sound. This should work, if not please say so! hope it helps!

    Hi!

Hi! There are no HDMI icons showing in that screen just the speakers. Do I need to take any specific action to get the HDMI icon to appear on that screen. Thanks!!!!

I'm using an HDMI cable connected to the back of the computer through the HDMI connecter port to the HDMI port in the back of the tv.
