    Audio Delay in Microphone

Hey, so I get this half second (or something) delay whenever I speak into the microphone. I can't record or use softwares like Skype because it's too much of a distraction! Anyone else had/have this problem? Any solution?

I can't help you specifically with Skype but it sounds like your software and the system are both trying to interpret microphone input. I ran into a similar problem when recording vinyl records with Audacity with a USB turntable. I got an echo. All I did was go into the Audacity options and turn off monitoring. There may also be options on your system sound panel to let software take "exclusive use" of the speakers but since you don't have any system specs or details, you make it hard to help much more.

    Try disabling all sound effects.

Thanks P5bdkw, +1 for YOU! That's what I was looking for but since I don't have a Mic connected, that properties screen doesn't show up for me.
