Windows 7 - No sound problem.

Hey all,

Recently there was a power outage around here and, obviously, the power went out. When I restarted my computer I noticed that there was no sound at the starting menu. (When you first turn on the computer) There is absolutely no sound, not even when playing music or videos. When I click on the sound tab, located on the right-hand side bottom of the screen, it only says, "Line-1" and "HDMI" there is no "speakers" symbol. I've literally tired everything to fix it. Hope I've given enough information. Please help.

As UKMedia has said above, filling out your System Specs would indeed help. If you need any help doing so, you can follow the below tutorial to find all of your specs.

I have, and it usually looks like that. But now there isn't a speakers symbol. My computer won't even recognize my speakers.

Everything is connected properly. I've tried updating the drivers, running a diagnostic on the speakers and restarting the computer.

In that case, I can only assume the power outage did some damage.

Are you using onboard sound or a dedicated sound card?

Try right clicking in a blank area and show disabled devices and see if it's been disabled in the screenshot..
