    Hi thanks for the reply,

    I have got a 3.5mm phono which is this,

    Cable-Trader.co.uk .: 3.5mm Stereo Plug to Twin Phono Socket Adapter GOLD - £1.95 :.

    This is the same as the item which you linked me to, correct?

    I have tryed with the phono aswell but still no luck,

    I will try it again in a short while and let you know how i get on

    well it is similar and will do the same job.the item i linked you to was a cable with a 3.5mm jack on one end and two red/white phonos at the other end.
    i take it there was a headphone socket on the tv

    Yes there is a headphone socket on the tv,

    this was the option i tryed straight away,

    i do hear some interfearance but no sound came through last time,

    when i get chance shortley ill try it again,

    Managed to get it all working,

    Tryed the 3.5 phono and turned the volume up and it all worked,
