Windows freezes after clicking sound button?

I've a weird problem with my sound options in my windows7 operated laptop. Whenever I clicked a sound button in the taskbar windows freezes for some minutes then sound options appear. I use windows mobility center to adjust volume level, otherwise it takes a long time. Another weird thing is, whenever I click a sound button, it toggles language bar in the task bar. Probably, it's a bug related to sound driver? Do you have any idea how I can fix it?

Can you fill in your system specs and we can give you specific ideas for your hardware.

Searching files upon clicking Start button
Hi, When I first installed Window's 7, I thought it was magnificent because it indexed all my files and applications including Window's own inbuilt apps like defragmentation of which I still only use the search to find it because I don't know where it is located. Recently, I don't know what...

Keyboard stops typing after clicking aero peek button
This is a minor bug and I can correct it easily, but I'm curious if anyone has it. When I click the thin button at the far right of the taskbar (what is that called anyway? it's the new 'show desktop' button I guess), and then click it again to restore all my windows... I cannot type in the...
