Microphone not working, is enabled but wont pick up audio

I've had this problem ever since i built the PC and latest drivers don't seem to fix it.

Previously on Win XP, i had to disable a line in to get the mic to work, however those options don't appear to be available on Win 7

i have an EVGA nForce 680i SLi motherboard, and running Win7 64bit Home with onboard sound.

i have updated the latest motherboard and realtek drivers, however cannot find a control panel for the microphone/audio other than windows own. (previously on XP realtek had a very poor UI/software to adjust the settings as well as in windows)

    any ideas/help would be great

    ta

Go to your sound icon down by the clock and right click on it and select sound and then recording devices. Right click in a blank area of the screen there and select show disabled devices and post a screen shot of it if you would.

Have you used Configure and Properties to make adjustments?
They're greyed out until you select Microphone.

Who makes the microphone? Is it a usb type like I have cause it appears that your computer isn't recognizing it.

Very nice headphones I must say. I'm wondering since these are a combination headset/microphone if there is not some software that you need to run them. I have looking all over the net to see if these need that even the on their site but that doesn't seem to be the case. I would ask them to see if they are compatible with Windows 7:
