    Speaker noises

A few months ago I installed a dvd from sony - sony vegas 10 instruction dvd - on my hard drive. Despite the fact I uninstalled it part of the audio repeats itself through my speakers every 20 minutes or so. I cleared the cache in WMP and similar programs such as quicktime. I noted the time it played and done a search for what was in use on my computer at the time to no avail. Used process monitor which tells you what is running on my computer at any given time to no avail.Searched my hard drive for sony folders and looked in them. Again no luck. Looked for the sony player plugin for WMP but couldn't find an install. I don't want to re install widows and restore doesn't go back far enough. Any ideas? TIA

Search again but this time unhide all hidden folders and system files:
Also delete the sony folders since you don't need them any more and check in the C:\ProgramData folder for any files that is a hidden folder. If you need a more thorough search engine try "Effective File Search"
http://www.sowsoft.com/efs-reg.htm it's trial ware but it a full service until buy..

Thanks for the reply. I have the hidden folders option un ticked. My problem is that I have a few sony products on my computer. Vegas 10 and Vegas Bloggie so If I delete the wrong folder then the programs might stop working.
