    Recommend me a sound card!

I can't seem to find a sound card on Newegg.com that fits my shopping standards. So, here I am coming to the experts. I will list my rig specs atm, and my desires, and let us see if we can find something that meets my stringent criteria. Most items I search for on Newegg are lots of reviews, 4-5 stars, brand name, compatibility etc. And the one I can't seem to ever get right is it looks like none of these sound cards say Windows 7 compatible anywhere on them. And since almost none of them say compatible, I would normally assume they all might be, but I have seen an exceptionally large amount of reviews saying "Generic example sound card X100 has windows 7 compatibility issues!" So the biggest issue would be finding me one that is for sure Windows 7 happy compatible and easy.

    Here are my stringent standards:

    - Must be available on newegg.com (or somewhere I live [Tempe, AZ] that is convenient since I am lazy)

    - I am only looking for a reputable, time tested, quality item for 30-50 dollars. I don't think I need a killer set and it will be my first sound card other than on board EVER. So the more quality, the more basic, the more simple, the better. I will also be installing this and its drivers myself. So the simpler the better. It is my first rig I built myself (although so far so good, no hiccups)

    - Most likely I will be buying a set of these headphones to go with said sound card, so compatible etc. (also willing to take suggestions on anything comparable if someone here does have the know how on comfortable headphones. Mostly computer use for gaming and music with a bit of TV, Hulu, Netflix etc.)

    - Here are my Rig specs : Windows 7 64x bit Professional
    These components here

Thanks all for the suggestions in advance. If anyone has any other useful information besides just recommending a sound card, go for it. I take criticism/sarcasm very well.

Edit: P.S. I love ASUS. Creative I assume should be great as well yes?

This is the Asus Xonar DS I was looking at. The exact card so I am happy that you recommended it.

My only concerns with it is that on product details it says: Operating systems supported: Windows Vista/XP(32/64bit)/MCE2005

Then Out of the top 10 reviews:

"Im tired of people complaining about the drivers messing up their windows 7."
"the drivers that came with it didnt seam to work for my windows 7 64bit setup."
"Reading other reviews and discovered this is an issue with Windows 7. "
" Bad job Asus. Why are you still sending out drivers that are incompatible with Windows 7?"

So, I do see the stickied links at the top of this forum section. So would a few people be willing to re-assure me that if I were to buy this product, that there ARE Windows 7 compatible drivers and that it should work fine?

My second question would be. I've never used a soundcard before and most of my PC headsets have been USB. Obviously the headset I am looking at would be only 1 3.5mm jack and not include side/sub-woofer/back. So would I just plug the headset into the "Front" port? (Sound card details as line out jacks: Front/Side/Center-Subwoofer/Back)
