Volume Mixer - Record/Playback options.

Hi, I was just wondering if there was anything out there that made Windows 7 look and act like XP does in terms of the volume mixer/audio controls. I've been searching around and everything I've found has been either "make XP look like Windows 7" (no idea WHY anyone would want to do this) or Windows 7 volume mixer bashing. Yet I see nothing to help the situation, just people being annoyed, like myself.. lol

What I'm wanting to do:

Open the volume mixer and have all the playback volume controls in one tab, and record volume controls in another. As of right now, I have to click through way more options to get to where I want.. and then it's still not exactly what I need. XP was perfect in that regard. 2 clicks and I was able to control everything how I wanted.

Also, like in XP, have it so I can click a record source and have it actually switch over to it. In other words.. I'm hosting a conference for work. They can see me via webcam and can hear me via a mic. I want to be able to then click "what u hear" (like in XP) and make it so it cuts the mic off and streams whatever I play on my computer. Not having to go into each program and select the record device.. Like in Skype right now, I actually have to go into the audio setup and select stereo mix. Even when I have Windows 7 default record source as Stereo mix.. They can still hear my mic (and nothing else) unless I change each program record source individually.

Is there a more straight forward way to do this? I don't care if it's a shell, a 3rd party program to handle the audio.. or whatever.. I'm really starting to miss the simplicity of the XP audio configuration. If it's not broken, don't "fix" it. :/ This new setup is very annoying. I know you're supposed to have more control in Windows 7, but I feel like I have way less than I did in XP.

Is this even possible anymore?

Thanks in advance,
