Realtek HD front panels problem

The microphone jack on the front panel of my computer is having detection problems. I have tried the "disable front panel detection" option and then my mic works perfectly after that. However, whenever I hit the mute switch on my microphone, whatever is playing on my computer gets broadcasted from my mic for everyone to hear even though my microphone is switched off. I've tried this with multiple microphones and the result is the same with each of them. I've been looking around for solutions and haven't found any solution to this particular problem.

Help?

Also just to clarify, I've tried updating the realtek drivers and the problem still persists.
