    Asus SupremeFX X-FI

    Hello All,

I have tried several ways to uninstall the windows 7 audio driver which does not allow the creative sound blaster X-FI mb console to open or work at all.

Thus the stock sound of windows sucks

I need to be able to successfully use the driver that came with the card for flawless sound.

So, far that same preposterous message keeps popping up..." There are no supported audio device available. You need to close the application. Click OK to close the application now."

    Errr.....it's not 'OK'~!

Anyone with any suggestions please share sure all of the other pc users with Asus Rampage I & II Extreme's stock card which is the SupremeFX X-FI, whom are currently running windows 7 or plan to run in future will be much obliged.

    Thankx in advance

ummm you can mannually force it to install the driver by right clicking in the device manager click on the sound device and click update driver software and click on browse my computer for driver software click let me pick a list of device drivers on my computer click on have disk and point it to where you have the audio drivers and then click ok....

then it should show up the driver and just click next ( if not untick show compatible drivers and then it should show up....)

    after that install your software....

I will try that now. However, I have already tryed it before. The issue is not so much that the driver will not install though.

It is more that W7 for whatever reason is not recognizing that the driver is there...and therefore the hardware is following suit in that it is not detected.

I did try to completely uninstall the windows 7000 audio driver with success, however only temporarily as upon reboot w7 unlike vista,xp,etc.

Does not allow you to choose installing driver from browzing it just automatically puts the same driver back in the device manager.

Seems like this was not happening before I had successfully installed the sound max driver which is version ending 6480.

At any rate even when the sound max driver was installed properly I do not think that this is the cause of the issue with the creative sound blaster x-fi card.

Instead I believe that there is a separate driver file which is included in the disk that I have for the card there's the regular audio folder which contains the sound max driver which I did get installed.

Then there's an additional folder called sb_xfi...inside of this there are several other folders alchemy audio cms ctsshared " HADetect "; which must be the cause of the cards features not being recognized.

Problem is that under the folder sb_xfi there are numerous dll files in fact there must be more than 20+.

Sure there's a way to get w7 to recognize just I have toyed with this for a spell.

I would add that the Asus Supremefx x-fi card is unlike all of the other pcie audio cards on the creative site, in that there are total of 8 i/os': line in port, line out(front speaker), mic port, center/sub port, rear port, side port, coaxial port, optical port.

It has adi 2000B 8-channel high definition audio codec.

    Eax HD 4.0
    cmss-3d
    alchemy
    crystalizer
    7.1
of all the cards the titanium is the closest to this asus hybrid however this card has 4.0 instead of the titanium's 5.0 but has 7.1 instead of 5.1 comes bundled with all of the same software as the titanium.

None of the drivers on Creatives site work with W7 & SupremeFX X-FI. What is needed is for someone like Dan K. to make a driver for Asus Rampage Extreme & Rampage II Extreme motherboards default cards which are the SupremeFX X-FI.

    Where are you Dan K~!?!
