Windows 7: Buzzing, Hesitating Media Files

Buzzing, Hesitating Media Files

I have a Windows 7 operating system, and suddenly my media files occasionally buzz (loudly) and hesitate during playback.

I realize others have posted this issue, but unless I'm missing it no solution has been found.

This is not a speaker or feedback issue.

This problem has appeared at a very bad time - please let me know if the problem has been correctly diagnosed and if a solution exists.

There is no "one fix" for all the problems. Each one has to be handled individually as someone may be getting the same or similar symptom but it may ultimately wind up to be a different fix.

With a laptop, wireless adapters can cause noise in audio. Bluetooth, can also cause it. A cordless or cell phone close to the PC can potentially cause it. A bad connection on the internal speakers can cause it (does it do it with headphones?)

I had that happen. Lived with it for weeks. I did a complete reinstall and brought the machine back to the way it was when I bought it. Buzzing and video problem gone.

I may have to do a reinstall. Dreading it.

As for the questions, this is not a feedback issue. Used different files, differemnt speakers, headsets.

I imagine some update caused this problem.

Make sure you are using the HP supplied driver for your sound module. I have seen many problems if a non-Vendor driver was installed. Windows update, if it's allowed to update the driver, usually installs a generic non-PC (or Motherboard) Vendor driver.

Look at the entry in the Device Manager for the Sound, if it lists it as "HD Audio Codec" or something similar that is not the HP supplied driver.

I reinstalled the original factory driver for the sound card off the partitioned area...no help.

Check HP and see if there is an updated driver. Still better than a complete reinstall.
