Hello and thank you,
I have an Asus M4A89GTD Pro mobo, winch has on-board "Realtek ALC 892 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC". This is a brand new build.
I'm using a TOSLINK optical cable to connect it to a Samsung HT-TX72 receiver, set up w/ 5.1.
I've downloaded, installed and re-installed the latest Realtek driver
-10/18/2011, ver. 220.127.116.1182
When I open the Realtek manager, there are only two tabs: "Digital Output(Optical)" and "Digital Output" - see snip below. Thats all. Every tutorial shows 4 tabs, including "Speakers" - see snip below.
I've spent many hours searching for a solution to a problem no one else seems to have, so perhaps I'm missing something so very basic
fwiw, I have downloaded the audio driver from ASUS as well, but it links to the same Realtek driver.
Can it be that 5.1 is not available somehow w/ S/PDIF? Seems unlikely.
