Windows 7

Just tested the 2.38 drivers. They do not work!! Why do realtek keep releasing updates if they are useless.

2.38 works in Zoom Player (tested with DTS test video), but not in MPC HC. It is strange, because settings of audio output looks same in both players. Sound is still only 2.0 in WinAmp.

win 7 ultimate

just registered to let u guys know.
i got win 7 ultimate and d945GCNL motherboard ith Realtek HD AC inbuilt. and a 5.1 Edifier AwESOME system.
my 5.1 runs fine with borderlands, modern warfare 2 which am currently playing ( NOT SPEAKER FILL) for some reason, its giving stereo when playing most HD movies with WMP. however, when run through windows media centre, 5.1 plays fine.
regarding speaker fill, when i play my stereo music files, i turn on speaker fill and my rear speakers sound fine. crisp enhancement of stereo files is what i hear.
ok now with soft. i got the latest realtek drivers for win 7 from intel site. i also installed a codec pack for win 7 which runs MKV files and also has the AC3 filter. i use that filter for all my playback movies and all except for DTS DVDs. reason i can clearly see input/decoded sound originally in the file and what my system is outputting and can tweak and mess about a lot.
if u guys need that codec pack lemme know will give u the link. hope this info helps.

Windows 7 x64

Hi! This is my first post, so please excuse me, If something is wrong with it.

I have ALC1200 integrated audio chipset. I am using Windows 7 x64, latest updates and etc. I have Logitech 5.1 speakers. I have the Realtek 2.39 driver, newest one.

The problem is very simple. I can't hear in Winamp, Windows Media Player, AIMP, BS Player & such all the 6 channels (5.1 surround) sound. The only thing I hear is 2.1.

When I test the speakers in Realtek and the Win 7 "Sound" thingy in Control Panel I have the loop running on all of my 6 channels (front, center, subwoofer, rear). Why can't I enjoy to 5.1 surround sound in Winamp and other players then?!

When will Realtek fix it? Am I the only one with ALC1200 and Realtek 2.39 expriencing this kind of problem?

Please help!

I downloaded a simple solution from Winamp Media Player - MP3, Multimedia, and Music Player (because i listen music with winamp player). The link is here. And to watch movies that support 5.1 sorround i downloaded win 7 codec pack by shark 007 where you can choose 5.1 audio settings.
That's the only solution for me. It worked, but it will be better, if Realtek fix their stupid and useless drivers. Thanks!

im not using this computer friendly amps. i have a 12kg-s (26.5 lbs) yamaha rx-v550 and s/pdif. still dont hear any 5.1 only virtual 5.1 and that's bull......t. the amp shows how many channels are active: (below -50 on the right)
and i see always 2 channels but on the test the dolby sound.
but right now its strange, that it plays movies 5.1, but the .dts audio files not. nor games. only movies.

This is insane.

I have problem,.. for me 5.1 surround works (i think), but no bass sound from subwoofer. Speaker fill and bass enhancement is not the solution.

For example in winamp, it seems that the sound is not coming to the audio codecs, when I use AC3 filter on sound input, there is no sound (of course some input error). Also hardware mixing is off, I dont know why and Im pretty desperate. I have realtek ac 97 (integrated sound card on MSI K8neo4).

Windows 7 didnt recognized my sound card, I had to install newest drivers for vista/7 from realtek website, but no luck at all....

The sound without bass is no sound!
