Windows 7: Sigmatel 97XX C-Major Audio Driver Help Needed!

I have an older P4 2.8ghz Dell Dimension 3100 that currently has Windows 7 installed. Apparently the driver is the Sigmatel 97xx C-Major audio according to support.dell.com - the first thing I tried was the Windows Vista driver listed on Dell's site. Unfortunately that did not work. The driver appears to be installed and I have a sound device however I have no output through the speakers. I'm sure it is a driver related issue.

The device enabled, the speakers work and are hooked up properly.



Any ideas where I can find a Windows 7 driver for the Dimension 3100 using the onboard Sigmatel 97XX?

Have you tried downloading it via windows update?

When using Windows Update it installs something called High Definition Audio Device which still does not work.

Well let me just state I think I fixed it...

I removed all drivers. Ran Windows Update on that driver. It installed the High Definition Audio Device - I went into playback devices and made sure the speakers were enabled and voila! It works - Well thanks I guess heh!

Well now the only other issue I have is with my Line 6 Guitar Port not working. I should probably make a new thread for that issue.
