How do I turn off the clock chimes

Just switched to Win 7 and the chimes from the standard taskbar clock are makin' me crazy. I've searched the machine as much as I could and googled my brains out and still haven't found an answer. Much appreciated.

Hi Bluzman and welcome to Windows 7 Forums

I wasn't aware that the standard clock had a sound scheme (chimes). It is possible that some 3rd party alternatives might, but as for the standard clock, then no.

Well, I did install Chameleon Clock but it won't work. Is it possible that's where the chimes are coming from?

*sigh* that was it. I feel like such a dummy. Chameleon never did work. I just never got around to deleting it. That's where that chime came from...arrrrrggggg.

So you've now uninstalled Chameleon and your chimes have gone?

I'm pleased that you have managed to cure your problem.
