    Better at what?

If you mean general sound quality when listening to music, I think the Realtek will work as well as the Soundblaster.

The Soundblaster might have some features that are not on the Realtek.

If you want to improve sound quality, look at your amplifier, headphones, or speakers.

You could Google the specifications for both the Realtek and SB soundcards, but generally I agree with the above. In terms of sound quality, unless you're a hardcore audiophile you won't notice the difference.

The areas where I see them differing the most are

    1. connection options (analog, digital, 5.1, mic/line inputs, back and front jacks), and
    2. support for "what you hear" (stereo-mix) recording and full-duplex (for voice chat).

I agree with the others, current technology Integrated sound systems are as good on recording and sound reproduction as add on sound cards.

Unless there is some specific need for the optional added features of a separate sound card, it's not needed.
