Go to Control Panel, then Programs and Features. In there you should find something like Realtek HD Audio Manager; select to Remove and it should remove the software and driver. When you re-boot, make certain you have the onboard sound disabled in the BIOS.

Are you going back then to get the sound card?

Ok now for plenty of hours and testing.

I did a full reformat and disable Sound in chipset.

Windows running disabled sound.

No programs were installed.

No external PCI Soundcard

Fresh OS.

Windows still keeps installing PCI, VIA driver and etc.. ETC. because sometimes not more than 2 drivers were installing.

That devices PCI standard PCI to PCI Bridge, VIA standard PCI to PCI Bridge driver are located at System devices. See Image.

I think its the chipset devices from motherboard.

This is the dead end of our fix for using Windows 7?

The current problems, are beyond the Audio section of the forum. There are other sections devoted to installation problems. Maybe someone on another forum section has some suggestions.

But, it looks like Windows 7 compatibility is iffy at best and the original recommendation to try it and see what happens and you now see "what happens" suggests it's not fully Windows 7 compatible and you are fighting a losing battle.

Unfortunately I agree with fireberd; searching for this board on the Net others have found themselves out of luck as well where Windows 7 compatible chipset drivers are concerned.

You might find a 775 socket motherboard that will have Windows 7 drivers, but a new build from the ground up would be better advised. If you can't do that now I'd stay with XP.

Thanks for all your help.

It give me plenty of knowledge.

I am done and very tired on forcing to run in Windows 7 on this mobo.

Anyways went back to my XP

Actually the one i test was different hard disk.

It is true to see compatibility.. It must be tested in actual.

Windows 7 advisor is not really accurate.

Anyway thanks for the time.

Advance merry xmas.

That is the one good thing that comes out of working on problems like this, you learn.

Enjoy XP, I know I did for many years.

An early Merry Christmas to you as well.

Sorry it got to this point but unfortuately some hardware just isn't compatible or fully compatible. At least you gave it a good try.

Happy Holidays.
