Windows 7: all sound stops

So this is happening right now.
The story:

I have contacted the Origin folks to help me with a game issue and while live chatting with them I was watching some youtube videos to pass the time till i hear back from them. The video stops making audio. I try my media player, winamp and the song keeps trying to load itself like there's a hard drive issue like it can't find it. I go to a random video site and they video plays but no sound. I check and see that no mute option is on in my sound panel. I switch headphones. Still nothing. Now I'm running Avast quick scan maybe that will turn something up.



Anything off the top of your heads??
