Audiojack not being recognised

Hello , Well today is actually christmas and i got a creativelabs fatal1ty gaming headset however windows is NOT recognising them. It connects into the green plug at the back of my pc which has actually never worked for me before when trying it with other things such as speakers. Funnily enough the pink microphone jack (which is right next to it) works perfectly. I have used a usb headset before i had this one which worked amazingly... until they broke. I actually have 2 green audiojacks one on the rear, one on the front however non of them work! If anyone knows a fix i would be glad to know
