A proper sound card and driver made for audio work? Something from M-Audio or any other decent audio device manufacturer would work. I get sub 3 ms on my ancient delta 44 card.

I have a Sonar based recording studio (and working on Pro Tools).

I agree, a separate audio recording interface will do much better than most PC sound cards.

Latency Issue
Whenever I try to use analogue LINE IN on my Windows 7 machine there is latency,- it's quite marked. It doesn't matter whether output is wired or optical. This used not to happen but now it does: this does not appear to be a sound card issue as I have tried three different ones to the same...

PCI Latency, how?
Hello folks, I use Flight Simulator X and I'm experiencing awful sound pops at the loop of the sound, and I've figured out why I believe. PCI latency is too high so the card isn't being released fast enough to be used again. Great. Problem is, I can't find out how to lower the latency. I've...
